Spring Wedding at Shadow Creek

June 16, 2020 in Spring Weddings

Our first wedding of 2020 was one of our favorites of all time! The setting was beautiful Shadow Creek, a luxury barn venue nestled in the beautiful rolling hills and pastures of Purcellvile, Virginia. Our bride and groom were high school sweethearts, so excited to start their life together as husband and wife. Our color palette for the day was neutral shades of champagne and white with greenery, which felt so fresh and perfect for the beginning of spring.

The ceremony took place on the stone terrace. A wooden cross covered in flowers was the focal point of the ceremony. The couple’s sweet pup was also part of the ceremony.

The bridal bouquet featured spring flowers including ranunculus, garden roses, lisianthus, stock, astilbe, and waxflower along with a mix of textural greenery. The 11 bridesmaids carried floral hoops instead of traditional bouquets. The delicate golden hoops were a unique detail that we carried throughout the reception decor.

In the reception space, we did a mix of high and low centerpieces in clear glassware. The sweetheart table featured a low draping arrangement and we repurposed the aisle arrangements on the chairs and at the base of the table. Overhead, we hung more gold hoops trimmed with flowers and draped the barn beams with lush greenery. When we were in the planning stages, the bride really wanted a hanging installation over the dance floor. However, there were no beams in that section of the barn for hanging the design. Never fear! we came up with a way to suspend a canopy of greenery so that it appeared to be floating over the dance floor. It comes in handy to have a civil engineer on our team! We were so happy to be able to make our client’s vision come to life through some creative thinking and careful execution.
