View fullsize I posted on the blog today about our first (and maybe last?) big wedding of 2020. It was the first week of March and I remember casually chatting about the new virus in the news as we happily designed the bouquets. We were completely unaware that the

Bridal bouquet of peach Shimmer roses, orange ranunculus, purple astrantia by Lark Floral

Written in the Stars Wedding Inspiration at Rixey Manor

December 22, 2016 in Spring Weddings

Here in Northern Virginia we have a wealth of beautiful wedding venues, including charming historic houses. Many are down long dirt roads, hidden among rolling hills, and it's easy to imagine life in these houses during the time they were built.

I discovered such a place called Rixey Manor. The house was built in 1801 and was smack dab in the middle of the civil war. It survived in tack and was kept in the same family for years. The current owners have renovated it and added space that is perfect for an intimate wedding celebration.

Amazing centerpiece with peach garden roses and purple lilac by Lark Floral

Working with Rebekah Emily Photography and Lily and Oak planners, we created a dream setting for an adorable couple. The florals we chose were in the color palette of peach with touches of purple and blue. Springtime flowers included garden roses, lilac, ranunculus, astilbe, and plenty of natural greenery. We are thrilled to have Style Me Pretty feature our work on their industry leading blog! Check out all the amazing details!
